Pre-flight and Airworthiness Demo at KCDW
Back by popular demand, Don Argintar from the FAASafety Team is leading a demo at KCDW on Saturday, June 20th and we would love to see you there! To reserve your spot, please send an email to vicechair@nj99s.org with your name and the names of any guests that will be joining you. Friends of the 99s are welcome to attend!
This is a special event where we will present to you a Cessna 172 rigged with airworthiness issues. We will review what airworthiness is, how it works, and what your responsibilities are. Then, each pilot will conduct their own walk-around and have an opportunity to find these issues. This is a terrific opportunity to hone your detective skills and learn a little more about aircraft systems. After everyone has had a chance to complete their own pre-flight, we will reveal all of the "defects".

International Forest of Friendship Annual Induction Ceremony
The Forest was established in 1976 as a bicentennial project by the City of Atchison and The Ninety-Nines Inc., The International Organization Women Pilot. Each September, new honorees are inducted into the Forest with plaques embedded in the walkway that winds through trees representing all 50 states.

May Meeting
This month, member Deb Henneberry of the Greater New York 99s Chapter, will be speaking on “Amelia Earhart and her Legacy at Purdue University”. You’ll learn about Amelia’s lesser known accomplishments, including her time as a social worker and her groundbreaking work at Purdue. Amelia’s many contributions outside of aviation can still be experienced today.

We will be welcoming Ann Neumann (a 99) and David Morrison on the topic of PLANE CAMPING!
David Morrison has been a pilot for more than thirty years. His partner Ann Neumann is a journalist and student pilot. The couple have spent the past five years landing and camping on grass strips throughout the Eastern United States. They’ll discuss how they choose their destinations; the fun challenge of grass landings and hazard mitigation; how they pack their Cessna 206; the essentials of their camping kit; and the absolute joys of general aviation and what many call “roughing it.”

Hangar Chats replace business meetings over the summer: we gather outside at Lincoln Park Airport (N07) for an evening full of airplane watching, flying stories, and hanger talk. BYO beverage and lawn chair and join in on the fun. Open to friends, family, and anyone interested in getting involved with the 99s!
